Having a philosophy is one of the most important starting points, something we call Core Values. Loyd Sports Academies Long Term Youth Athletic Developmental Model is a step-by step skill acquistion model based on physical, psychological, and physiological developmental stages

The LTAD model that we use has 3 primary goals:

3. Create World Changers

Creating Systems
To create these type of systems or develop any type of system we must envision the end result and work backwards the end result of this model is to :

1. Create programs that meet players needs at each distinct stage of their development and ensure that players motivations are  guided by themselves ,their group, and training environment
2. Develop elite players with advance skills and basketball intelligence

LSA has used and created these systems to achieve consistent results!

     Pre College Division Programs

What has enabled our academy to grow and be successful is our ability to place members into the correct program that will truly benefit their individual development needs. We ask for your patience in this process and with the program while we try to find the right situation for your child, and remember, your child’s placement at this time is just a starting point based on his/her current needs. We will move our members around from program to program continually as their development requires.

Jr Development Program

Members in this program will have two 60 Minute training sessions per week. Participants in this will not participate in Travel play. The focus points of this program are:

  • Prepare the athlete for competitive team play

Saturday scrimmages - Once a particular group has reached the proper development level, Saturday will include a controlled scrimmage game. These practice games will consist of the members being separated into teams by age/grade and competing against each other in a “live” 3 on 3 game. These games are important to attend, as this is the time used to improve court awareness and put what has been learned in training, into action. Based on performance in these games, members may be moved from the Player Development Program (PDP) to the Accelerated Program and begin to play on the Accelerated Travel Program.

  • Refine and improve individual skills

  • Learn and practice competitive team concepts

  •  Provide the necessary foundation to compete at the Travel Team level.

  • Allow members to practice team concepts and individual skills in a semi-competitive game setting

  • Allow athletes to explore different positions and team roles to find where he/she may be most successful
